I want to take the time to thank everyone who committed time and effort towards the wildfire response effort. I was notified a little while ago that Hayes, Kansas had lots of praise for Oxana Melnikova and Alex Leffler who led the mixed human and V’ren ground crew there. They save not just a few farms, but potentially the entire town as they have no working fire crews. We saved a town and potentially saved lives, but almost as important, we have shown that when people come together, we can accomplish great things. Also I want to thank Larry Lefler for never letting training standards slip. When your team reassembles here at home we will have a barbeque for them.

Secondly, I want to remind everyone to stay vigilant. Thomas Littleton brough in two tigers for the bounty today. One was following a small equine heard. The larger of the two was 13’2” tip to tip.

I also want to say congratulations to MJ Reyes who is the first human cadet in the shuttle pilot program. For those of us who saw her learn to drive a boat last summer, I have ordered extra stores of antacids and if that doesn’t ease your troubles come up to the house we always have plenty of beer. In all seriousness, congratulations ‘nak. Make us proud and when you master the shuttle, then I might trust you with my truck.

Last Item. I have had to invite the press. They will be here Thursday-Monday and I am charging them through the nose for the privilege. If any of you with guest space wants to earn some extra money by playing host talk to Lara, she is coordinating that aspect. The park will be open all four days and anyone that wants to earn extra money, send Gary’s people a note.

Keep Calm and Carry On

-Matt
