- One to protect V’ren citizens from common Earth-borne microbial threats.
- One to protect humans from both common V’ren microbials and other earthborn pathogens we do not currently vaccinate against.
Matt Marmaduke, the local Freeholder who granted the initial sanctuary charter, volunteered to receive the first human-compatible dose. The injection, delivered under the joint supervision of V’ren and Earth medics, was caught on camera and circulated across medical coordination networks.
“Trust begins with risk,” Matt said. “I wouldn’t ask anyone to do what I wouldn’t do myself.”
Dr. T’Monn Th’ron, senior medical officer aboard the V’ren ship, confirmed that early assessments show no cross-species transmission vectors. The synthesis relied on the ship’s idle navigation network—hardware designed to model faster-than-light flight paths in real time. Feeding biological data into that system made vaccine design almost trivial. “This is about stability and respect,” she said.
Earth-side clinics began immediate review and distribution planning, with epidemiologists granted full access to the V’ren data under provisional cooperation terms.
So far, no side effects have been reported. When asked how he felt afterward, Matt replied:
