V’ren Dissidents Reveal Earlier Household Crisis Involving L’tani T’all
Several V’ren sources critical of Matthew Marmaduke’s handling of highborn discipline have disclosed details of an earlier incident involving L’tani T’all, the younger half-sister of T’mari.
The sources are not accusing Marmaduke of wrongdoing.
That distinction has already been lost in portions of Earth social media.
Their complaint is directed at L’tani.
According to the V’ren accounts, L’tani acted in violation of longstanding V’ren custom during the chaotic first days after arrival. The matter was handled privately within the household and no formal public punishment followed.
The sources say that is unacceptable.
Their anger intensified after Marmaduke and T’mari began appearing publicly together again in Columbia.
One source summarized the grievance bluntly:
“L’tani broke custom. T’mari did not. Marmaduke did not. Why is L’tani protected from consequence?”
The disclosure creates the first serious internal V’ren challenge to Marmaduke’s new position as High Lord.
The accusation is not that he has too much authority.
It is that he is refusing to use enough of it.
RESPONSE TO: V’REN DISSIDENTS REVEAL EARLIER HOUSEHOLD CRISIS INVOLVING L’TANI T’ALL
May 20, 2440Missouri Evening
L’tani T’all Is Not Public Property
Several unhappy V’ren have decided that L’tani T’all’s private conduct should become planetary entertainment.
Their complaint is unusual by human standards.
They are not accusing Matthew Marmaduke of mistreating her.
They are not objecting to his relationship with her half-sister, T’mari.
They believe L’tani violated V’ren custom and escaped the consequences they think she deserved.
That makes this fundamentally a V’ren cultural dispute.
Marmaduke’s refusal to satisfy every traditionalist who demands punishment may be the first encouraging evidence that becoming High Lord did not make him eager to police bedrooms and family honor.
L’tani is an adult.
Custom is not ownership.

The L’tani Leak Creates a Real Test of Marmaduke’s New Office
The controversy surrounding L’tani T’all is being badly translated into human terms.
L’tani and T’mari are half-sisters.
The V’ren sources releasing the story do not accuse Matthew Marmaduke of misconduct and do not object to his continued public closeness with T’mari.
Their accusation is institutional.
L’tani violated V’ren custom.
They believe a High Lord should respond.
Marmaduke therefore faces a question he did not face as Freeholder.
Does accepting V’ren authority obligate him to enforce V’ren social expectations that he personally may not value?
Whatever answer he chooses will help define what his High Lordship actually means.

A High Lord Cannot Accept Honor and Reject Obligation
L’tani T’all knew the custom she violated.
Her family knew it.
Matthew Marmaduke now knows it.
No accusation is made against the High Lord for the underlying incident. The grievance is his refusal to treat established obligations seriously after accepting the rank that exists partly to preserve them.
A title is not decoration.
A High Lord receives deference because a High Lord accepts responsibility.
If Marmaduke intends to keep the seat while discarding every custom he personally dislikes, then he is not reforming V’ren society.
He is using V’ren authority without accepting V’ren restraint.
L’tani’s case will show which it is.
